So, once you've settled in comfortably with your new favorite items at home, take the opportunity to get to know them a little better.
Wooden furniture is among the most durable pieces of furniture, requiring only occasional dusting. Protect tables and dressers from unsightly water stains with coasters. These stains can only be removed with beeswax.
Beautiful leather upholstered furniture should not be exposed to direct sunlight and should be wiped down regularly with a damp cloth. Special leather care products provide lasting protection. For all other upholstered furniture, simply vacuum and remove any stains immediately. Be careful with linen, as water can leave marks.
A little salt water and a splash of vinegar make a great cleaning solution for your lamps. A squirt of dish soap helps with greasy kitchen lights. Be careful, always unplug the lamp before cleaning, as water and electricity don't mix. To avoid cleaning in the dark, it's best to do it on a sunny day.
And last but not least: For carpets, a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment naturally takes care of daily maintenance. Lukewarm water and a little mild detergent quickly take the sting out of stains. For heavier soiling, a professional should be called in – an investment that is particularly worthwhile for high-quality carpets.
